Being secure on Internet with a VPN

A VPN provides anonymity by giving you another IP address. It prevents websites from detaining information given by your IP address but some data remain visible. All your web communications in particular can still be intercepted by hackers and your ISP.

The only solution is to encrypt all the traffic you generate (e-mail browsing, file sharing, MSN, Skype for example). By using very difficult mathematical formulas, the encryption transforms your traffic into intelligible data. The encryption is generally effective between your computer and the VPN server and is different according to the protocol it uses.

Thus nobody can see the content of your e-mail with colleagues or chat with friends. It’s rather reassuring for companies who need to communicate via Internet and for people like you and I who don’t want to be victims of impersonation.
