I tried ExpressVPN because of their 30-day money-back guarantee. Their speed was not fast enough for my purposes; it was too slow to stream videos from such US sites as Hulu.com and NBC.com. So I decided to cancel and asked for the refund they had promised. They were quick to reply I’d be refunded in 2-3 business days, but nothing happened over a week. I had to contact them again to make them follow through with their promise. Such negligence certainly leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

I tried Astrill around the same time, and their speed is at least a couple of times faster and fast enough to stream videos from the above sites. When you compare the per-month cost when you commit to a year, ExpressVPN charges ~$10 and Astrill, ~$5. I am in no way affiliated with Astrill, but I really do not see the point of signing up with ExpressVPN.
